Why Do You Love the Disney Parks so Much?

Here’s your rewritten post tailored to Walt Disney World:

Have you ever found something you absolutely love doing—an activity or hobby that brings you pure joy? For some, it might be woodworking, restoring cars, skiing, or working out. You get a sense of fulfillment and excitement from these passions, always thinking about the next project or adventure. For me, that passion is learning about and visiting Walt Disney World.

I’m endlessly fascinated by the parks—the history, the behind-the-scenes operations, the creative decisions, and, most of all, the magic they create. From the moment I step onto the bus, monorail, or Skyliner from my resort, or walk through the gates of Magic Kingdom, I feel a wave of excitement. It’s a kind of joy that makes me fully immerse myself in the moment, leaving behind the stress of meetings or chores.

At Walt Disney World, I get to escape into a world where I can become a child again. One moment I’m piloting the Millennium Falcon or fighting the First Order on Batuu; the next, I’m traveling through space as a Space Ranger battling Emperor Zurg. I might be diving into a classic adventure on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or joining Simba and friends at the Festival of the Lion King.

You might be thinking, “But isn’t it crowded and expensive?” The answer is yes, it can be. And while I have social anxiety—something you’d think would make a place like Walt Disney World overwhelming—there’s something about the magic that helps. On the rare occasion I feel anxious, I find a quiet corner, take a moment to reset, and remind myself where I am. The magic always pulls me back in.

I’ve been fortunate to visit the parks in a variety of ways—on solo trips where I get to do exactly what I want (a selfish but wonderful experience), and with my family, where I get to see the parks through my kids’ eyes. Watching them light up at the sight of Mickey Mouse, Cinderella’s Castle, or the Millennium Falcon fills my heart with joy.

One of my favorite traditions is taking each of my kids on a special birthday trip, just the two of us. I’ve also had the chance to experience the parks with my wife, and those trips are magical in a completely different way. Each visit is unique, but they all leave me counting down the days to my next adventure—and I can never sleep the night before (thank you, melatonin).

So why do I love Walt Disney World? It’s the way it makes me feel—like I’ve been transported to another world. It’s the magic that Walt Disney envisioned and brought to life, and the way that magic continues to inspire joy and wonder to this day.
